VacMaster Chamber Pouches: Match the SKU to the Job

Three verified cases, three different specifications

The VP215 manual’s packaging table, page 18 identifies these exact items among its supported pouch selections. The current 30754 detail listing independently confirms its dimensions, thickness and count.

Use the item number to keep comparisons honest

These cases change both size and thickness. Comparing them as a simple good–better–best sequence would hide that distinction. The 6 × 10 option may suit a portion that does not need the other bags’ additional material, while a larger package may need a wider mouth or more length. Establish the required dimensions first, then evaluate thickness within the appropriate size range.

For an established packing routine, record the SKU beside a successful package sample or in your supply notes. Add the food portion and your machine settings. When changing a pouch, that record lets you isolate what changed instead of replacing the bag and adjusting several controls together. A larger case is most attractive when the exact pouch has already earned a place in your routine.

The 5-mil specification identifies the heavier material in this selection; it does not establish a universal performance advantage. Do not move to 30776 merely to obtain the highest number if its larger format is inconvenient for your actual portions. A seal failure also needs diagnosis before it becomes a reason to order thicker bags.

Thickness and cooking rating are separate decisions

The VP215 packaging guidance distinguishes Re-Therm from ordinary pouches: Re-Therm is reinforced for boiling up to 30 minutes, while other pouches can delaminate during that length of boiling. The 14 × 18 Re-Therm page specifies 212°F/100°C for 30 minutes.

That large Re-Therm example illustrates the family’s thermal specification; it is not a VP215 fit recommendation. If cooking is your reason for buying, obtain the rating for the exact size and item you intend to order. A thicker standard pouch does not inherit a specialty pouch’s published thermal limit. Likewise, a general sous vide statement does not establish suitability for every temperature and duration.

A chamber-pouch selection is not a suction-bag order

Keep the chamber-pouch designation and item number in your order. VacMaster also lists 6 × 10 full-mesh bags in a 50-pack. That is a different product from 30721 despite matching its nominal dimensions. The manufacturer’s catalog includes multiple bag formats, so an adjacent result bearing the same brand and size is not sufficient identification.

For a different machine, use its own approved-pouch instructions and a representative filled trial. The VP215’s documented selections do not certify the same filled package in another chamber. This distinction matters when a business owns several sealers or changes models while keeping the same supplies.

Buy the case around your consumption rate

Use the bag cost calculator with current delivered prices. Also decide where a full case will live and how quickly you will use that particular size. A nominally cheaper bag is not useful inventory if the case crowds the packing area or a new portion format leaves most of it unused.
