Is a chamber machine right for you?
A chamber machine reduces pressure around the pouch as well as inside it, making properly prepared liquids easier to handle than in many ordinary external-suction workflows. It commonly uses smooth chamber pouches.
The tradeoff is a larger, heavier machine with a bounded chamber. Long packages may suit an external sealer better. Oil-pump models add upkeep; dry pumps still need correct cleaning and operating pauses.
Vacuum sealing is packaging, not sterilization. It does not make perishable food shelf-stable or replace refrigeration, freezing or tested canning.

They are useful for suitable liquid workflows and smooth pouches, but cost, weight and chamber length are real tradeoffs. Better depends on what you seal. Compare the workflows.
There is no universal winner. Start with pouch size, space and pump upkeep. The Finder produces an unranked documented shortlist.
Regular may mean smooth or embossed. Compatibility depends on machine, material, thickness and package size. Use the bag guide instead of assuming every vacuum bag works.
Many FoodSaver models use external suction, with different bag-channel and liquid requirements. Liquid-capable models are exceptions to blanket freeze-first claims. Check the exact model and workflow.
